Allison Barnard
Feeney of NIST is this year’s recipient of the Brian K. Martin Technical
Excellence Award. Her knowledge and skills have benefited many development and
deployment projects – she was a key resource for development of several
critical STEP standards including AP210, AP233, and AP203 Edition 2. Allison has
personally addressed modules development and EXPRESS compilation issues for many
STEP specifications, and she has worked to clarify numerous open issues
concerning how STEP modular architecture should be structured and how modules
will work together. She authored the Guidelines document for modules
and Application Protocol content, and several PDES, Inc. projects are developing
standards based on the foundation of STEP modules that Allison was
instrumental in building.
Allison’s leadership skills
have helped her make the most
of limited available resources and inspire her teammates with the amount of work
they were able to accomplish. Her technical skills and knowledge provided the
team with confidence to address tasks in diverse areas. She is a skilled
negotiator, able to achieve the most practical solution when dealing with a
variety of conflicting interests. PDES, Inc. is pleased to award the 2006 Bryan
K. Martin Technical Excellence Award to Allison Barnard Feeney.
The PDES, Inc.
Executive Board established the Bryan K. Martin Technical Excellence Award in
memory of Bryan K. Martin’s exceptional record of strong leadership and tireless
work to achieve PDES, Inc. goals. The Board presents this award annually to a
PDES, Inc. technical resource who has demonstrated superior technical
contributions to the program.
